The Weaving Method : An artisan begins by placing a backdrop fabric on an iron frame and tracing the desired design on it. The artist then uses a little wooden device to force the desired yarn into the cloth, a technique known as tufting. The tufting gun hooks and pulls yarn through the backing to create loops or heaps in the regions indicated.

When the carpet is finished and graded, a canvas backing is glued to it. This keeps the tufted yarn from shedding and gives the rug a distinct appearance. These are low-cost carpets.
