A silk-on-cotton carpet is a hand-knotted silk carpet consisting largely (approximately 80%) of silk and the remaining 20% of cotton. The base is constructed of cotton. A silk-on-silk carpet features 18x18 knotting and approximately 324 knots per square inch.

Silk-on-Silk

In contrast to its silk-on-cotton cousin , a silk-on-silk hand-knotted carpet is entirely comprised of silk, including the base. A silk-on-silk carpet features 24x24 knotting and about 524 knots per square inch.

For both these categories, the sizes are available from 2x3 feet to 10x14 feet.
